Here I show how I have cleaned my car and truck engines for years. It requires no water, scrubbing, or heavy degreasers. Plus, it protects your belts and hoses.

  • Did he just spray it all over the engine and leave it on or did he wipe it off?

    • Sprayed and left on. Some will drip down and the rest will evaporate. Wiping will remove more dirt but it does a pretty good job by just spraying.

  • Years ago there was a company out of Plainville, Mass called Kar Kraft......great company with a great chemist name Wayne Stevens....he came up with a product called “Solution One”, without a doubt this was the absolute best cleaning product I’ve ever seen.....biodegradable, enhanced brightners, many different applications and easily diluted when hit with water.....they had some very good auto aftermarket chemicals, waxes and reconditioning products.....

    MonstersejasMonstersejasHace 27 días
    • Don't confuse tire shine products with tire foam, they are completely different products. Tire shines are usually a silicon based dressing designed for just that, to make tires (or anything else), shine. Tire foam, on the other hand, is a cleaner and protectant. From the Armor All website: Tire Foam®Protectant not only *CLEANS* your tires, it restores their natural, deep black appearance. Watch it working, as the intense foaming action *LIFTS AWAY TOUGH DIRT* Within minutes, our proprietary blend of nourishing conditioners penetrates into your tires, restoring their like-new appearance and bringing out their deep, natural colors. Intense foam activates on contact, *FLOATING DIRT AWAY* without scrubbing. Here is another video showing it work eswindow.info/call/oICnfGeg0mSDvq8/v-deo.html

    • 25 years ago I would spray degreaser on the engine and powerwash it after and it always did a great job. I was working with some dealerships about 20 years ago and found out due to the excess of electronics on modern vehicles, they were having major problems using all that water to clean their trade-in vehicle engines and were using this method instead. Using this method has kept all my engines clean and caused zero issues.👍👍

All American MackAll American MackHace un mes
  • This method may work on an engine that is fairly new, but how good would it be on a much older engine with a lot of built up grime, grease and gunk on it? Personally I would recommend something like Super Clean Engine Degreaser followed by a light water rinse.

    lakrfan 49lakrfan 49Hace un mes
    • I agree. If it has a lot of build up, it would probably need a good degreasing first.

    • I'm by no means an expert and don't know a lot about hybrid engines. Even though I've used this method for 20 years on traditional engines without any issues, if I was even a little bit skeptical, I would probably not use it on the hybrid system. Maybe it would work just fine but not being familiar with hybrid systems, I would err on the side of caution and use this method eswindow.info/call/hqp7iYKXlnylrIU/v-deo.html It's more work, more time consuming, and requires a steamer but produces a great end result.

  • haha, thats lime spraying tire shine over your dirty tires. Itll just camouflage the dirt and blend it with the rubber, but it doesnt mean its no longer their, and in the long run, you'll end up with shiny smudge, from additional dirt and will have to clean it the right way.

    Ruben RoblesRuben RoblesHace 2 meses
    • Ruben Robles I did show me wiping it on the second video. And I've always said this is *not* the most thorough way to clean your engine, but it does do a better job than many people think. The dirt runs down and drips off on everything but the horizontal surfaces which you can wipe if you want, I've never found it necessary and they have never collected oily gunk because the tire foam evaporates away.

All American MackAll American MackHace 2 meses
    • @All American Mack its all good, of thats rhe case, why didn't you demonstrate it by wiping ot with a cloth or your hand? It may have lifted the dirt off the surface, but UNTIL you rinse it, it's still there. Same as wheel cleaner, it lifts amd seperates dirt and old brake dust, but that doesn't mean its all out, UNTIL you rinse it.!

      Ruben RoblesRuben RoblesHace 2 meses
    • Actually, it's *nothing* like spraying tire shine on anything...... because I *didn't* spray tire shine on anything, I sprayed tire foam, which is a completely different product. Tire shine doesn't clean or protect, *tire foam* does. You couldn't be more wrong about "shiny smudge" because again, I didn't use tire shine and 20 years of using this product proves otherwise. From the Armor All website: Tire Foam®Protectant not only *CLEANS* your tires, it restores their natural, deep black appearance. • I guess the dirt magically vanishes. Maybe if you spray it all over the whole car you'll never have to wash it again. That's like believing you can get an engine overhaul out of a can of STP or some other engine additive. If you don't let your engine bay go months or years at a time without cleaning, blowing it off occasionally with air works wonders. I have a 2006 mustang and my engine bay looks new, because every couple of months I just go to the gas station and blow the engine compartment off with air. Simply put, take care of your car like you would your home. You wouldn't let your home go months or years without cleaning. My whole point here is take care of your car and it will take care of you! Neglect it and you will have many problems, I guarantee it!

Then you have the engine cleaner and degreaser, that could also work. No matter what you discover, we must remember that regular cleaning can help the engine run a bit cooler. That’s because all that buildup can actually hold heat, Increasing running temp. That’s why we must help our engines run cooler through regular cleaning

    • I've got 19 years of use and hundreds of thousands of miles on engines I've used it on with no problems at all so what proof do you have that it will erode parts?

  • It would be wise to cover with a cloth or bag your battery terminals, and atleast your alternator, you're taking a risk if not.
