Bank of America is preparing to kill its app for Windows 10 PCs and mobile devices. According to a message sent in the app, the app will no longer be available from “end of July” (via Windows Latest). Instead, Bank of America directs users to its website.
Although the message seems to imply that the app will be available until July, it is actually not found in the Store at the time of this writing. Here is what Bank of America says:
Important Notice: Our Windows app will no longer be available at the end of July. However, you can go to bankofamerica.com to use online banking.
Bank of America is not the first major bank to drop support for its Universal Windows Platform application, but it may be disappointing for customers. That said, it’s possible that Bank of America will opt for a Progressive Web Application (PWA) in its place in the future. There are no known plans for this at the moment, but it’s an area that Microsoft is certainly focusing on in the future.
If the Bank of America app is already installed on your Windows 10 device, it should continue to work until the end of July.
